Run Albion: Seeing the virtue in virtual.
March 18, 2020
What if you could participate in running a race, but not necessarily run it at a particular time? Or, for that matter, a predetermined place? That’s the idea behind the Virtual Run Albion series, a new addition to Run Albion.
As the weather gets warmer, there are a lot of races to choose from over a year. And even if you want to race in a certain race, time constraints and prior commitments can make things difficult.
With the Run Albion series, you can still participate and support the local non-profits that are beneficiaries of Run Albion’s proceeds. You can run, jog, or walk on the road, or the trail, or the treadmill. At the gym or on the track. (Or even at another race). Everyone benefits!
You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself. Heck, you can even run it at midnight if you want. You still get the bling while doing your own thing, as all participants will receive a medal. You simply text in your results using the link provided when you sign up, and that will be your official time.
Your run is virtual. Your support is valuable!
When you register for a Run Albion event you are giving back to the Albion community. With the generous support of our sponsors, Run Albion covers the cost of the entire series.
Each registration fee is then used as a donation to a local nonprofit organization that provides course volunteers. In 2019, Run Albion donated nearly $3,000 across five different nonprofits. In fact, one donation made by Run Albion doubled the organizations operating budget for the entire year!
