The Albion Leadership Academy Successfully Kicks Off First Program Day.
October 28, 2021
The Albion Leadership Academy is underway! Its first monthly meeting was successfully completed in early October. Running over a 12-month span, each 4-hour meeting is a combination of training, peer coaching, expert panels, and discussion. The 14 candidates selected for the first program average in age from 30 to 40 and are all individuals who work in the area and are invested in it. The companies and organizations participating include:
-Caster Concepts
– Ace Real Estate
– Albion Community Foundation
– Albion College
– Team 1 Plastics
– Mitchell Golf
– City of Albion
– Inside Out Automotive Detailing
– Smart Strength & Conditioning
– Blue Ox Credit Union
The goal of the academy is to support the rising leaders in the community. As current community leaders age and begin to step down from their posts, it’s important to have new leadership in place to take on these positions of power. This helps to ensure that support and guidance for the city and the people of Albion won’t miss a beat.
“As a participant, I am eager to build skills in leadership and connect with other participants as we take on larger leadership roles in the Albion community,” notes Caroline Hurteau, Community Liaison and Leadership Academy participant. “This networking is important because even if we end up on opposite sides of a challenge, our time together in the program will give us a better understanding of where that person is coming from.”
